Field Quick Guide
You're on a crew. Your hours are how this company knows what a job really cost, so the time you record here ends up in the budget your foreman works from and in the paycheck you get. That's the whole job in this software: get your time right, and know where to look when you need to see what's happening today.
Nobody expects you to learn the rest of it. You won't see proposals, pricing, or anybody's pay. What you see is your schedule, your time, and the files for the jobs you're on.
Set Yourself Up Once
- Open the invitation email on a computer first and set your password there. The phone app can't set a first-time password, so if you start on the phone you'll get stuck at the login screen.
- Sign in at my.elevationadvisor.com and check your name and email under the gear icon.
- Now install the app on your phone and sign in with the same email and password.
If the invitation email never showed up, check junk mail, then ask whoever set up your account to send it again.
What You'll Use
Timesheets is where your day gets recorded. Smart Calendar shows what's scheduled and where.
You'll also find the files for a job, the plans, photos, and notes, on the project the calendar sends you to.
Your Day
Clock in when you start. Use the app on your phone. It records where you were, so nobody has to take anybody's word for it later.
Clock out at the end. Do it before you drive off, not that night from your couch. The closer it is to real, the fewer questions come back to you.
Fix what you missed. Forgot to clock in on Tuesday? Open Timesheets, click Add Manual Entry, pick the date, the project, the crew, and the hours, and say why in the reason. An honest note beats a perfect record that nobody believes.
Check yourself before payroll closes. Look down the week and make sure every day you worked is there and the hours look right. Once the office submits payroll, fixing it is somebody else's headache and it takes longer.
What You Can't Do, and Why
You can't see or change anyone else's time. You can't export timesheets or send anything to payroll. That's on purpose: your record is yours, and the office owns payroll.
You also won't see proposals, invoices, or what the job is priced at. If you need to know what's included in the work, ask your foreman, that's what the budget is for.
Your Checklist
- Password set on the web before you try the phone app
- Clocked in at the start of the day and out at the end
- Missed time added the same week, with a reason
- Your week reviewed before payroll closes
- Photos and notes for the job put on the project, not stuck in your camera roll
